Virtual inauguration of e-mega legal service camp by High Court Chief Justice

Raipur, Oct 24: Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Bilaspur and Chief Patron of Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority Justice Arup Kumar Goswami today inaugurated legal service camp in all 23 civil districts including Raipur through video conferencing. Chhattisgarh High Court Judge Justice Goutam Bhaduri presided over the inaugural function. Chhattisgarh High Court Judges- Justice Sanjay K Agrawall and Sanjay S Agrawal were present as special guests at the function.
Under the aegis of National Legal Authority of Supreme Court (NALSA), New Delhi and under the direction of Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority, Raipur has organised Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi to commemorate the 75th anniversary of independence. The campaign started on 2nd October and will continue till 14th November. The megal legal service camp has been organized in Raipur under this campaign.
Chief Justice of High Court Justice Goswami in his address said that equal opportunities and social justice to the citizens were mentioned in various articles of the Constitution. Common people are being made aware through e-mega legal service camp. Presiding over the programme, Justice Gautam Bhaduri said that e-mega legal camp benefitted more than 8 lakh people.
He discussed theme song of NALSA and added that information can also be obtained through YouTube. Our neighborhood and surroundings should also be made aware in this regard, he said. He also shared the helpline number ‘15100’ of NALSA and suggested all the needy to take advantage of it. The judges present as special guests also addressed the programme and said that legal services were being made available to the citizens through Mega Legal Services Camp. The Legal Services Authority is committed to fulfill the principle of justice for all by providing free legal services, they added. High Court Judges, Advocate General Satish Verma, Registrar General Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, Member Secretary of Chhattisgarh Legal Services Authority Siddharth Agarwal were prominently present in this virtual programme.
Mega Legal Services Camp at district level was organized in the court premises in Raipur. District and Sessions Judge and Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Raipur, Arvind Kumar Verma said that the Legal Services Authority was working relentlessly to provide justice to the needy. He also gave numerical information about the resolution of cases. He said that one should be aware of legal service and inform others about it.
He gave detailed information about NALSA.
Stalls of various departments were put up in the District Court premises. The officials of the department also gave brief information about the various welfare schemes. Also present on this occasion were judges, Municipal Commissioner Prabhat Malik, Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Raipur Mayank Chaturvedi, Additional Collector Padmini Bhai Sahu, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority, Raipur Praveen Mishra, President of District Advocates Association Ashish Soni, District Officers from various departments of administration, advocates, representatives of print and electronic media, court staff and beneficiaries.
