Agitating employees of SKS Ispat set ablaze police van

Raipur, Aug 19: Situation turned violent early on Thursday outside SKS Ispat factory’s main gate as agitating employees clashed with police and suddenly a police van was set ablaze. The incident further aggravated the situation and remained volatile when reports last came in.
According to information, a patrolling party from Siltara police outpost arrived at the main gate of SKS Ispat where a large number of employees were on strike since July 14 last with regards to their various demands. The employees were claiming that all their demands were genuine which the factory management was denying vehemently.
Meanwhile, few days ago the agitating employees had a meeting with the factory management in presence of the Tehsildar and it was broadly accepted by both the parties to accept the demands of the employees. However, the factory management reportedly backed off of its assurance and this intensified the agitation since last couple of days.
With reports coming on Thursday of the agitating employees planning to turn violent, a police patrolling rushed to the factory from Siltara outpost and instead of calming the situation it turned violent and the police van was set ablaze.
