Multi-level parking, new bus terminal to be inaugurated today

Raipur, Aug 19: August 20, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi, will be historic for Raipurians and will be full of gifts. Sewage treatment plant including inter-state bus terminal, multi-level parking, Shaheed Smarak Government English Medium School will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in Raipur on Friday. Along with this, 6 MLD sewage treatment plant near Anicut located in Bhathagaon to keep the water of Kharun, the life-giving river of Raipur, pollution freent plant will also be inaugurated. On the initiative of Urban Administration and Development Department, Shri Balaji Swami Trust Shri Dudhadhari Math Inter-State Bus Terminal has been constructed on 25 acres of land in Bhathagaon to make public bus transport in Raipur city well organized and accessible to the commuters. 104 rooms have been constructed in the four-storey building of this grand complex built at a cost of about Rs 49 crore, in which office rooms, shops, transport offices, food courts, passenger waiting rooms, food stalls, women and men dormitories will be operated. Separate toilet rooms have been arranged in this complex for both male and female as well as third gender passengers.
This multi-storey complex, constructed at a cost of Rs.28 crore, is the best example of modern city planning by making proper use of minimum area in helical (spring-shaped) shape in an area of 17792 square meters.
To keep the water of Kharun pollution-free, 6 MLD sewage treatment plant has been constructed by Municipal Corporation, Raipur, for the purification of the polluted water flowing in the drain flowing near Anicut located in Bhathagaon. Under the “Swami Atmanand English Medium School Scheme” of the Government of Chhattisgarh, the Shaheed Memorial Government English Medium School, Raipur has been given the form of a modern English medium school with facilities to provide free high-level education resources to the poor families. For the convenience of pedestrians and two wheeler passengers, a shed constructed at a cost of Rs 5 lakh at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk near Shankar Nagar by the Municipal Corporation, Raipur which will also be inaugurated today.
