One nabbed with 8 kg ‘Ganja’ worth Rs 1.60 lakhs

Raipur, Oct 26: Khamtarai Police has arrested an inter-state drug smuggler Bedi Jharia. Khamtarai police got tip from an informer that a person is in possession of ‘Ganja’ near Vyas Talab and is planning to move somewhere.
On this Addl SP (City) Tarkeshwar Patel and SP (City) Urla Vishwa Deepak Tripathi and TI Khamtarai Ashwini Rathore gave instructions to nab the ‘Ganja’ smugglers red-handed.
So as per instructions from the senior officers, the police team under leadership of Khamtarai TI reached the site and nabbed the accused red-handed along with ‘Ganja’. When interrogated he disclosed his name as Bedi Jharia R/o Jabalpur (MP).
When the team searched his bag, they found 8 kg of Ganja worth Rs 1.60 lakhs kept inside a bag and he was taken into arrest. The Police informed that the accused was taking ‘Ganja’ from Odisha to Jabalpur via Chhattisgarh.
Khamtarai Police has filed a case under section 20 B of Narcotics Act and taken the matter under investigation.
