BJP summons Sao over viral list of candidates

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high command on Thursday summoned the State BJP President Arun Sao and other leaders to New Delhi following the viral list of the candidates for nearly 50 Legislative Assembly seats for Chhattisgarh polls.

While Sao and State BJP Organizational General Secretary Pawan Sai left for New Delhi from Raipur in the morning, the Regional Organizational Secretary Ajay Jamwal went to Delhi from Bhopal. State BJP Election in-charge Om Mathur was already in New Delhi. All these leaders held a meeting with the National BJP President JP Nadda and General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh over the prevailing scenario after the 2nd list of the candidates went viral. While the central leadership was irked over the leak of the list of the candidates, the growing resentment among party rank and file over several names of the candidates in the viral list too has been the agenda for the central leadership for discussion. It is learnt that the names of other probable too are being discussed in place of the names which has gone viral before the party formally announces candidates. Nearly a dozen new names could find place in the 2nd list of the candidates as the high command is seriously considering the prevailing scenario after unrest in several seats. Party workers are agitated for the few seats from Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur and Balod region which has created further headache for the central leadership.

Few Members of Parliament including the Union Minister Renuka Singh, Raigarh MP Gomti Sai and Bilaspur Parliamentarian Arun Sao are all set to enter into electoral fray in the upcoming Legislative Assembly polls whereas almost all the sitting MLAs too would be fielded as candidates to ensure the BJP emerges stronger after the 2018 polls debacle.
