Volunteer teachers to teach illiterate in literacy classroom

Raipur, Feb 25: A two-day online orientation program of the identified volunteer teachers of the state started under the reading and writing campaign. Volunteer teachers will teach the illiterate in the literacy classroom. Introducing the campaign through YouTube Live in the orientation program, an understanding was developed on the role and functions of volunteer teachers. Volunteer teachers were registered for orientation at the state level through Google registration form from the link sent earlier. More than five thousand volunteer teachers participated in the online orientation program. Prashant Kumar Pandey, the Nodal Officer of the Reading Writing Campaign, called upon the volunteer teachers to make invaluable contribution to create an educated family, an educated society and an educated country. While motivating the volunteer teachers, Assistant Director Mr. Dinesh Kumar Tank said that in this campaign’s literacy yagna, whosoever can give full blessings and go ahead and join the literacy campaign. On the first day of orientation, the introduction of read-write campaign to volunteer teachers, role of volunteer teachers, information about classroom operations was given by subject experts.

On this occasion, the resource person of the District Literacy Mission Authority Raipur, Mr. Chunnilal Sharma, Prof. Dhara Yadav, Project Advisor Ms. Nidhi Agarwal, Mr. Sunil Roy and Ms. Neha Shukla, Mr. Mahesh Verma and Mr. Satish Sonkar were present for technical support. It is notable that on the last day of the two-day orientation, the use of digital mediums in literacy, innovative activities, reading activities, reading-writing activities, mathematics skills, environment building will be informed by subject experts. It is worth noting that after the orientation, 3 days full-time training for volunteer teachers will also be organized at the state level.
