Conditions imposed by the Govt are met expeditiously: Akbar

State Forest and Climate Change Minister Mohammad Akbar took a departmental review meeting at his residence office in Shankar Nagar, Raipur. During this, he took information about the compliance of the conditions imposed by the Government of India in the mines approved under the Forest Conservation Act in the state, while reviewing them forest-wise and gave strict instructions to the Chief Forest Conservators to ensure their early compliance. All the Chief Conservators of Forests were asked by the Forest Minister Akbar regarding compliance of the conditions by conducting a sudden inspection of the mines already operating under their respective areas. He also directed the Forest Divisional Officer, Raigarh to issue show cause notice to Dr. Pranay Mishra during the review in the meeting. Correct information regarding compliance of conditions in the mines operated there was not provided by Divisional Forest Officer Raigad Dr. Mishra. Taking this seriously, the Forest Minister Akbar expressed his displeasure and gave necessary instructions to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Forces to issue show cause notices to them immediately. Forest Minister Akbar, while reviewing the forest record, directed the Chief Conservator of Forests, Surguja to provide videography of the action taken so far in relation to the compliance of the conditions in three different mines operating under his area.
These include Parsa East, Kete Basen, Parsa Mines and Kete Extension mines. Apart from this, he directed all the Chief Conservators of Forests to ensure 100% compliance of the conditions imposed by the Government of India in the mines operated under their respective forest circles. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Rakesh Chaturvedi, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Sunil Mishra and all Chief Conservators of Forests were present on this occasion.
