Gujarat Governor appreciates Ch’garh Raj Bhavan and cuisine

Raipur, Dec 01: Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat called on Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday. The first lady of Gujarat, Mrs. Darshana Devi was also present on the occasion. Acharya Devvrat visited Chhattisgarh Raj Bhavan and appreciated the arrangements made here. He tasted the Chhattisgarhi cuisine ‘Fara’, ‘Idhar Kadhi’ and ‘Chaulai Bhaji’ and described them as delicious.
Governor Ms. Uikey informed the Governor of Gujarat in detail about the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh, its geographical environment, natural beauty, many species of paddy here, immense forest wealth and customs of tribals. She told that Chhattisgarh state is a tribal dominated state. Minor forest produce is the main means of livelihood of the forest dwellers here. Tribal culture is extremely rich. The tribals traditionally make bell metal, woodcraft etc. and the products made by them are getting good response in the country and abroad as well.
Ms. Uikey took them on a tour of the Raj Bhavan. The Governor of Gujarat highly appreciated the Chhattisgarh Raj Bhavan. He highly appreciated the open gym and Durbar Hall built in the lawns. He informed Ms. Uike about the encouragement being given by him to natural farming. He told that in Haryana and Gujarat also he encourages farmers to do natural farming. He also met the farmers of Durg district here and informed them about more production and other benefits from natural farming at less cost. Acharya Devvrat invited Ms. Uikey and all the officers to visit Gujarat. On this occasion, Mr. Yashpal Jaganiya, assistant to the Governor of Gujarat and Officer on Special Duty, Dr. Rajendra Vidyalankar were present.
On his arrival at Raj Bhavan, Governor Acharya Devvrat was welcomed by the Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Amrit Khalkho and Deputy Secretary Mr. Deepak Kumar Agrawal. Governor Ms. Uike honored Acharya Devvrat by giving a shawl and a memento. The Governor of Gujarat also honored Ms. Uikey with a memento.
