9 state students selected for phase-2 of Artificial Intelligence for Youth program

Raipur, Feb 21: School Education Minister Dr. Premasai Singh Tekam felicitated 9 students and their teachers selected in Phase-II of the National Competition of Artificial Intelligence in a program organised at village Suhagpur in Pithora block of Mahasamund district. In the program, laptops and certificates were distributed to all the students selected at the national level. Out of the total 14 selected students from the aspirational districts of the country, 7 students belong to Kuldeep Nigam Higher Secondary School, Narra, government of Bagbahra, the development block of the aspirational district Mahasamund in the state. Students selected for Phase-2 will work with Intel to solve problems related to agriculture, rural economy, rural health with the help of Artificial Intelligence. Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Dwarkadhish Yadav, local public representatives, students and teachers of the respective schools were also present in the program. Minister Dr. Tekam congratulated all the students and teachers felicitated in the program and wished them a bright future. In the Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Youth program organized in collaboration with the Central Government Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and renowned software company Intel, the students studying in class 6th to 12th in the government schools of the country get to know about the latest artificial technology. The program was started to find solutions to society problems using AI. It is noteworthy that 52 thousand 628 students were registered in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Youth program from the state in June 2020 and 11,466 students took training in the first phase. In July 2020, 2,536 teachers were trained from 35 states of the country. In August 2020, 2,704 ideas were submitted from 2,441 students. On January 12, 2021, the list of the top 100 students of the country selected in Phase-2 was released. In this, 9 students were selected from Chhattisgarh state, out of which 7 students are from Narra district of Mahasamund.
