Instructions to accelerate Covid-19 vaccination of targetted groups

Raipur, Mar 13: A meeting of the state level committee constituted for vaccination of Covid-19 was held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhavan here under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain. Discussions were held in the meeting to reach out to the beneficiary groups identified for Covid-19 vaccination and to get them vaccinated. The Chief Secretary has said that those who have taken the first dose of vaccination have to take the second dose compulsorily, only then the vaccination will be beneficial. It is important to follow safety measures even after vaccination. The target groups for this are health workers, front line workers, people over 60 years of age, and individuals aged 45 to 59 years of age with severe illness to be prompted for the vaccination of Covid-19. For this, the targeted groups have been instructed to send detailed information regarding vaccination through mobile SMS whatup messages, e-pamphlets. Mr. Jain has also said that the students of the colleges, N.S.S. He has also instructed the students of the (National Service Scheme) and members of the Nehru Yuva Kendra to give information through social media regarding the guidelines for prevention of infection of Covid. Jain has said that information regarding vaccination should be accessed through mobile messages to the members of the target group working in all departments of the government. So that the vaccination process can be simplified and the infection of Covid-19 can be avoided. Instructions have also been given to motivate and get vaccinated to senior citizens living in the old age ashram being run by the social welfare division and beneficiaries of various pension schemes. Jain said that a detailed program of 30 days vaccination should be mandated by all government and accredited hospitals in vaccination centers and availability of adequate quantity of Covid-19 vaccines should be ensured. Jain instructed to set up vaccination centers in the nearest area and complete the vaccination process in a better manner according to the convenience of the villagers in rural areas. In view of the slow pace of some districts in the vaccination work, Jain has expressed displeasure and directed the districts of Gorela-Pendra-Marwahi, Narayanpur, Korba, Bilaspur, Sukma, Korea, Kanker to expedite the vaccination. In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Health Department, Mrs. Renu G. Pillay informed that 2.6 lakh health workers, 1.8 lakh friend line workers, 1.3 lakh senior citizens above the age of 60 years have been vaccinated in the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination. Similarly, in the second phase 1.4 lakh health workers, 5,403 friend line workers, 28,842 people aged between 45 to 59 years and 1.6 lakh people above 60 years have been vaccinated. In the state, 8 lakh 80 thousand 700 vaccines of covishield and 72 thousand 540 vaccines of co-vaccine are available for vaccination. Vaccines are being provided to each district as per the requirement. In the meeting the General Administration Department, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Department of Urban Development, Revenue, Department of Women and Child Development, Industry Department, Labour Department, Tribal Development Department, Secretary level officer of Social Welfare Department and Health Mission Director, Dr. Priyanka Shukla in the meeting was present through video conferencing.
