Ambedkar Welfare Society to take initiative for justice to persons belonging to Mahar Society

Proposal to be sent to Chhattisgarh Government and Central Government for a permanent solution to the difficulties of making caste certificate

Dr Ambedkar Welfare Society will take necessary steps to provide justice to person and family belonging to Mahar Society coming under category of Scheduled Caste in case of injustice, atrocities, exploitation, harassment against them in Chhattisgarh and other states of the country. A permanent solution will be given for the difficulties faced by the people of Mahar Society in making caste certificates. The resolution in this regard was passed in an important meeting of the special general body of Dr Ambedkar Welfare Society was held recently at Labhandi in capital Raipur in presence of former Magistrate of Mumbai Metropolitan and former Chairman of Human Rights Commission and SC-ST Commission Mumbai Justice Chandrabhan L Thul.

Various provisions and rights of the Indian Constitution were discussed in depth in this meeting held in the presence of Justice Thul. The Welfare Society will send a reasoned proposal under the provisions and rules to Chhattisgarh Government and Centre to simplify the process of making caste certificate in Chhattisgarh. Office bearers and members of Dr. Ambedkar Welfare Society discussed about the important and useful provisions of the Indian Constitution. Several decisions were also taken by passing various resolutions in the special general body meeting of the Welfare Society. Priorities were fixed for redressal of the burning problems being faced by the people of Mahar society in the state and the country at present. It was also unanimously decided in the meeting to make efforts to perpetuate memory of Dr BR Ambedkar.
