SECR bags ‘Certificate of Merit’ award

SECR is way ahead in adopting energy conservation measures and as a result in 2020-21 received prestigious ‘Certificate of Merit’ award given by the Ministry of Power, Government of India. This award will be given on the occasion of ‘Power Conservation Day’ on December 14,2021 in Vigyan Bhavan. As part of energy conservation measures, SECR not only gave preference to the use of power efficient electric engine and EMUs but also gave training to its drivers so that they can remain vigilant on saving power. SECR is replacing traditional lights and instruments with power efficient lights and instruments. It is also saving a lot on the expenses incurred on power bills. For the use of non-traditional energy sources, SECR is constructing solar power plant at many places. Till now SECR has established 4.636 MW solar plant. As part of this energy conservation measures, at all important places solar panels have been fitted. In Bhilai construction of 50 MW solar power plant is under progress. In this current financial year,SECR produced 29 lakh unit power from April-November 2021.
