Karan, Charvi win Youth Table Tennis championship

Karan Malhotra defeated Arjun Malhotra with the score of 3-1 to win the Youth Under 17 Junior Boys title in the 21st Stag Chhattisgarh State and Inter District Table Tennis tournament being organised under the aegis of Chhattisgarh Table Tennis Association (CTTA) at Sapre School-based TT Hall here on Saturday. Similarly, Charvi Madharia from Durg defeated Siya Meghani from Bilaspur with the score of 3-1 to win the Youth Under 17 Junior Girls’ title.

Providing the above information in a statement issued here, the Organising Secretary Vinay Baiswade said that Shreshta Mishra from Raipur defeated Yuvraj Banjare from Bilaspur by 3-2 to clinch the Youth Under 13 Cadet Boys title whereas Ananya Gotekar from Rajnandgaon defeated Siya Meghani from Bilaspur to win the Girls’ title.

In the senior Men’s Single semi-final, Arindum Debnath from Raipur defeated Sagar Ghatge from Raipur with the score of 4-2 whereas Ramji Kumar from Raipur defeated K Sai Prashant from Bilaspur to enter final for the first time.

In the Senior Women event, Surabhi Harsh Sahu was defeated by Ananya Dubey to storm into the final and Sushmita Shome defeated R Devanshi to enter into the final.

He further informed that Chhattisgarh Veteran Table Tennis Committee Chairman Pradeep Janwade was chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony whereas Shakil Sajid presided over the event during which  Rajesh Lunia, Pradeep Joshi, Premraj Jachak and Chief Referee Pravin Nirapure were also present.
