Covid vaccination for people aged above 18 to begin from today

The uncertainty over free COVID vaccination of people aged above 18 years from May 1 is over. The state government has decided to vaccinate people above 18 years of age. Health Minister TS Singhdeo said today in a video message that vaccine coming to Chhattisgarh will be used in vaccination from May 1. The vaccine doses are expected to reach warehouses by 12:30 pm after arrival by plane at 11:30 am and accordingly vaccination will begin soon after the arrival. Keeping in mind the social justice the Antyoday ration card holders will be given vaccine doses in the beginning and then BPL beneficiaries will be given opportunity to take vaccine doses.
Later APL ration card holders will be given vaccine doses, Singhdeo said. He said that 800 vaccine doses are being set to each and every development block tomorrow and 2371 vaccine doses are being sent to each of 14 municipal corporations. He said that vaccination centres for people aged below 45 will be different from vaccination centres for those below 45.
