Owner, editor of Web Portal arrested

Raipur, Oct 26: State capital police has arrested the owner of a Web Portal and its editor on charges of publication of sting operation news related to a Congress MLA of state. Both the owner and editor of this Web Portal are also facing charges that of illegal recovery from people by publishing news against them and then demand cash to settle the issue. The case is related to Civil Lines thana of capital city.
In this case the police took action on Monday night. Prior to this it was on Sunday night that MLA Brihaspat Singh and Kuldeep Juneja along with few Congress leaders reached Civil Lines thana and lodged complaint against the Web Portal owner and editor.
The name of owner is Madhukar Dubey and its editor is Avneesh. Madhukar Dubey run a Web Portal in the name of ‘Zero Party’ and in this had published a wrong and fabricated news related to MLA, which created controversy.
MLA duo Brihaspat Singh and Kuldeep Juneja claimed that it is on the basis of scoops and fake stories through this Web Portal the two were involved in illegal recovery of cash.
TI Civil Lines thana SP Tiwari informed that the action was taken based upon the complaint filed and the case is related to some sting operation by this Web Portal. Owner of Web Portal Madhukar Dubey has published some news of sting operations against the MLAs through the web portal ‘Zero Party’, where the MLAs were found speaking against the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
Terming the same as baseless, MLA Brihaspat Singh from Baghel’s camp lodged complaint against the two and now the police has taken both into arrest and investigating into the matter.
