National Tribal Dance Festival a symbol of respect towards tribal class: Soren

Raipur, Oct 28: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has said that Chhattisgarh is doing innovative work to preserve and promote tribal culture. Lauding Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for National Tribal Dance Festival which began at Science College Ground Raipur today he said that this grand event would be an honour to the tribal class. Tribal class has been exploited for years and it remained socially, educationally and economically backward he said and added that this grand event was a message for the entire country. Soren was present at the inaugural function of tribal festival as chief guest. He said that this effort of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel towards the tribal class will prove to be a milestone.
Former Rajya Sabha MP BK Hariprasad, Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant and Counselors of Uganda and Palestine were present as special guests. In this ‘National Tribal Dance Festival’ and Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava to be held at Science College ground in Raipur from October 28 to November 1, artists from 27 states and 6 union territories of the country and around 1500 artistes from 07 countries including Eswatini, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Mali and Palestine are participating in National Tribal Dance Festival and Chhattisgarh Rajyotsavy being organised from October 28 to November 1 at Science College Ground Raipur.
Soren further said that today in the materialistic era, the tribal society is engaged in saving its civilization, culture. Now this programme of Chhattisgarh government is expected to revive hope of the tribals besides giving them strength and energy and enabling them to keep their culture and civilization intact, he said. According to Soren Chhattisgarh is making effort for betterment and welfare of tribals through different schemes. Water-forest-land are the soul of tribal society, he said and added that farms, barns, livestock and forest produce are its property. He praised Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for procuring minor forest produce at support price in Chhattisgarh and providing better price of tendu leaves and other minor forest produce to the forest dwellers.
Dancers from different states and countries performed an attractive march past with traditional costumes and musical instruments. Ministers Ravindra Choubey, Mohammad Akbar, Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, Dr Shiv Kumar Dahria, Kawasi Lakhma, Guru Rudra Kumar, Anila Bhendia, Jai Singh Agrawal, Umesh Patel, Rajya Sabha MP Phulo Devi Netam, Parliamentary Secretaries and MLAs, presidents and officials of the corporations, other public representatives and large number of people were present on the occasion.
