RPF Raipur nabs 7 dacoits from Surat-Puri train

Raipur, Jul 19: Seven dacoits who were involved in a daocity in Surat were nabbed by RPF Raipur while travelling in Surat-Puri train here in Raipur and RPF recovered Rs 66,500 in cash, gold jewelleries of 1.5 ‘tolas’ including two earring, one pair of another earring; 1 ‘Mangal sutra’, 2 silver ‘malas’, 1 silver chain, 1 silver wrist band and mobiles of 9 different companies and used clothes from their possession. The accused accepted to have distributed cash among themselves and sent some cash to home as well.
According to RPF Raipur, all the seven dacoits arrested originally hails from Odisha and were living in Surat in Gujarat. The six include Rajesh Patnaik (23), Basant Pradhan (21), Kunan Gaud (19), Ruchit alias Ganesh Behara (24), Charan Gaud (19), Shivram alis Shiv Swai (22), Mitan Bisoi, (24).
The Crime Branch Surat City had informed it to the post in-charge RPF Raipur that the accused have run away in the Surat-Puri bound train from Surat bearing No. 08406 after a dacoity in Surat city. The photos of the two accused was sent in the WhattsApp. In this train the RPF jawans checked from Raipur to Mahasamund and found 2 persons travelling in coach No S-6 as per WhatsApp photo, along with five others.
All the seven accused had conducted loot on July 12 in Surat city and looted a person with cash and mobile. The photos of all the seven accused nabbed in the S-6 coach of the train were shared with the Crime Branch Surat city. In turn Crime Branch of Surat city confirmed that on July 12, a person near Anjani Railway Line was looted of Rs 7.50 lakh in cash and 3 mobile phones by these 7 persons. In this regard the Surat City police had filed case under section 394, 395 of IPC. It was on arrival of Sub-Inspector detection Crime Branch Surat and 7 member team from Crime Branch Surat and two police drivers that all the seven accused were handed over to them by RPF Raipur on July 18.
