CM administers oath to the newly elected office bearers

Raipur, Apr 22: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday participated in the virtual program of swearing-in of the newly elected office bearers of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Chhattisgarh State Council. He administered the oath to the office bearers through video conferencing from his residence office. The Chief Minister congratulated all the newly elected office bearers for successfully discharging their responsibilities.
The Chief Minister said that the office-bearers have taken the responsibility of taking forward such a global movement in Chhattisgarh, which was started by Lord Baden Powell in Britain in 1907. Scouting is a movement of character building of the individual, which inculcates human values in children. One of the important principles of Scouting is the principle that a Scout is a friend of all. Every Scout member is brother of another Scout members.
In this way, this principle links Scouting to universal brotherhood. Humility, loyalty and reliability are the qualities of every Scout. This movement teaches a person to love nature. It teaches that this world is full of animals and birds. It is our responsibility to preserve them. The Chief Minister said that Scouting teaches to be frugal. Purity of thought, word and deed is the first condition of Scouting. A Scout is always ready with body and mind to serve others. According to the tradition of Scouting, every Scout puts a knot on his scarp and vows not to untie the knot until he has completed the service. Scouting is a movement of building of better world-society, which India is also taking forward.
This movement in India had started even before independence. The ‘Bharat Scouts and Guides’ in independent India was established on November 7, 1950 by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Mangal Das Pakwasa. School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, MLA and National Vice President of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma and Parliamentary Secretary and State Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides State Council, Mr. Vinod Seven Lal Chandrakar also congratulated the newly elected office bearers. Advisors to the Chief Minister, Mr. Rajesh Tiwari, Mr. Pankaj Sharma, Mr. Atal Srivastava, Mr. Kanhaiya Agrawal, Mr. Chandra Prakash Bajpai as vice-presidents, MLA Mrs. Devati Karma, Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Shakuntala Sahu, Mrs. Shashi Chandrakar as vice-president in the virtual program, Mrs. Anita Raote, Mrs. Mamta Rai took the oath. The tenure of these office bearers will be for a period of 5 years from the date of the first meeting of the State Council. Public Health Engineering Minister Guru Rudra Kumar, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain and MLA Brihaspati Singh were present on the occasion.
