St. Xavier’s Bharni celebrates NCC Day

Bilaspur, Nov 28: St. Xavier’s High School Bharni celebrated 73rd anniversary of National Cadet Corps in association of 8 CG BN NCC Raipur, which strives to be one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation. Marking the solemn occasion, Chief guest Mrs. Manjulata Baaj , Deputy Superintendent of Police Bilaspur paid homage to our national heroes on behalf of the entire NCC fraternity. The chief guest was given a guard of honour by NCC cadets Sakshi Khaire, Harshita Goswami, Richa Sahu and Shivani Singh.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the NCC flag by the Chief Guest, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Thereafter, the pinning of badges was carried out by Manjulata Baaj and the cadets undertook the oath-ceremony. DSP Manju Lata Baaj motivated the cadets to serve the nation by joining military and defense forces.
This was followed by an impressive march past by the young cadets. The drill and the pyramid presentation was an epitome to the motto of NCC “Unity and Discipline”.
The impeccable performance of the cadets is the testimony that the dreams of our national heroes must come true. The cadets were also given an opportunity to know about the rich culture of India through the mesmerizing song “hum sab Bhartiya hainapna manzil ek hi hai” The cadets whole-heartedly participated in “Swachhta Abhiyan” and played a pivotal role in spreading awareness in the society. The importance of the day was highlighted by cadet Vamika Singh of class IX.
Managing Director G S Patanaik congratulated the cadets for outstanding performance and exhorted them to strive further to improve and excel. Principal J S Hundal motivated students to acquire discipline and get equipped to face new challenges every day. The programme came to an end with tree plantation done by the chief guest, other dignitaries and the cadets. Lekhashree Patnaik- trustee, Nancy Parekh- HM, Asim Das- PGT PE, Shashi Khushwaha- NCC ANO, Rakesh Kumar PI staff from 8CG BN Raipur were also present on the occasion.
