Yoga is an Integral Part to complete well being

  AIIMS-R Hosted Mindfulness Session on International Yoga Day

All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raipur organized a special yoga session on International Yoga Day in association with the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy, Ministry of AYUSH. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 150 participants including faculty members, Nursing Officers, staff and students. Experts say that yoga is an integral part of the complete wellbeing of humanity.

Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar in his inaugural remark highlighted the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental health including challenging times. ‘AIIMS Raipur is providing holistic patient care with AYUSH at its core. There is a need for collaborative research between different departments and AYUSH. It is a proud moment for India that Yoga Day has been celebrated at International level in different countries, he said.

The Yoga session witnessed common yoga protocol including various asanas, pranayama, and relaxation techniques. Dr. Vikram Pai, Medical Officer (Yoga and Naturopathy) led the session. Anshuman Gupta, Deputy Director (Admin.) said that Yoga is an ancient treasure of India. Prof. Alok Chandra Agrawal, Dean (Academics) emphasized on the importance of yoga in maintaining overall health and enhancing mental resilience.

The training sessions of Common Yoga Protocol were conducted from 1st to 21st June 2023 at AYUSH. Kundan Kumar, Yoga Instructor conducted the IDY-2023 event.
