Post COVID OPD in all district hospitals

Raipur, May 20: Post COVID OPD will be started in all district hospitals of the state.
The Health Department has issued circulars to the collectors in this regard and has directed them to make necessary arrangements. The department has asked to ensure the availability of medicine, ophthalmic, ENT and other specialists as well as physiotherapists in Post COVID OPD. Instructions have been issued to run OPD three days a week for counselling and treatment of problems related to mental health of COVID patients such as depression, anxiety and sleeplessness.
Principal Secretary of Health Department, Dr Alok Shukla said in the circular issued to the collectors that some patients were seen having difficulty in breathing, fatigue and weakness after being discharged from hospitals with recovery from COVID-19. Also, cases of Mucormycosis in corona patients who have been treated in the last few days have also increased in the state.
In view of these circumstances it is necessary to start post COVID OPD in every district hospital for regular follow-up and treatment of all such symptoms in patients who recovered from COVID-19, he said. He instructed to ensure availability of experts and other health workers for treatment of patients in all POST COVID OPD clinics.
