Workshop on prevention of COVID-19, jaundice, dengue infection for corporators

Raipur, Mar 24: A workshop on prevention of COVID-19, jaundice and dengue prevention was organized for the corporators at Raipur Municipal Corporation headquarters here by the office of Chief Medical and Health Officer in Raipur District under National Urban Health Mission. Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, Municipal Commissioner Sourabh Kumar, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Meera Baghel, MiC members Gyanesh Sharma, Sunder Jogi, Akash Tiwari, Jitendra Agrawal, Suresh Channawar, Droupadi Hemant Patel and other corporators were present at the workshop.
Municipal Commissioner Sourabh Kumar said that he would talk to Raipur Collector Dr S Bhartidasan for vaccination of all corporators of Raipur Municipal Corporation by considering them as frontline workers. The Municipal Commissioner also asked all corporators to encourage people to get themselves vaccinated against COVID-19 at the earliest. He said that COVID-19 infection had spread rapidly during the same period last year. He said that RMC corporators, officers and staff played significant role in controlling the spread of COVID-19 infection with the support of district administration, police teams and social organizations. This year also COVID-19 is spreading rapidly but now vaccine is available to fight against COVID-19, he said and added that every individual should go for vaccination as per the vaccination rule. According to him the corporators can play important role in making vaccination drive a success. According to Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Meera Baghel, mask is the present alternative to prevent COVID-19 infection. Dr Baghel said that large number of COVID-19 positive patients was found in Amlidih, New Rajendra Nagar, DD Nagar, Ram Kund etc and that efforts were made to control the infection in these areas. Less than 100 people are being vaccinated against COVID-19 in Kachna, Boriakala, Amasivni. She asked the corporators to encourage people in these areas for vaccination.
