Speed up airport construction works to start flight service soon: Renuka Singh

Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Mrs. Renuka Singh inspected Maa Mahamaya Airport, Ambikapur along with Collector Sanjeev Kumar Jha and other officials on Friday. After the inspection, she took a meeting of the officials at the airport and took detailed information regarding the airport operation and construction works.
Mrs Singh instructed to start the construction work as soon as possible to remove the shortcomings pointed out by the airport authority.
The Union Minister said that the much awaited dream of the people of Surguja would be fulfilled with the commencement of this airport. The Central and State Governments have made every effort to start the operation of this airport soon. Now whatever construction work has to be done in it, it has to be done at the local level, for which the concerned officials should complete the quality construction on time.
It was informed that for the operation of 70 seater aircraft, reconstruction of runway of Ma Mahamaya airport, construction of waiting hall, entry and exit gates will be started soon. On this occasion SDO Basant Kumar Khaka, Airport in-charge Suresh Bambuldia, Darima Tehsildar Irshad Ahmed, Naib Tehsildar, Sanjit Kumar Pandey and other officers were present.
