Chief Justice inaugurates 1st virtual court
Eighteen court rooms built in the new court building also dedicated to public

Raipur, Mar 20: The Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, Justice PR Ramachandra Menon, inaugurated the first virtual court of the state and 18 court rooms built on the fourth and fifth floors of the new court building Raipur online. The event was presided over by the portfolio judge Prashant Kumar Mishra of Raipur. Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava, Chairman of Computerization Committee was present as the special guest on the occasion.
The Chief Guest Justice PR Ramachandra Menon, said that online proceedings through virtual courts will save time of the judges for other judicial works and it will also be convenient for the common parties in the cases. He said that facility would be expanded for all the judges, parties, advocates and visitors through the newly constructed court rooms. The Chief Justice Menon inaugurated the new court room through video conferencing by unveiling stone plaque and cutting ribbon online in the dignified presence of Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice Manindra Mohan Srivastava.
In-charge Registrar Computerization Shahabuddin Qureshi gave detailed information regarding the online process of the virtual court through PPT, explaining all the procedures including issuing online challan summons and depositing the amount. Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava called for creating awareness regarding virtual court. Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra explained the need for virtual court and its importance. District and Sessions Judge Ram Kumar Tiwari extended greetings and best wishes to all those present on the occasion for 18 new court rooms in the new court building. CJM Bhupendra Vasnikar of Raipur proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by Umesh Upadhyay, Secretary, and District Legal Services Authority Raipur.
Also present were Raipur Collector and District Magistrate Dr S Bhartidasan, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav, Judges, Bar Association president Ashish Soni, Secretary Kamlesh Pandey, Bar Association office bearers and members, judicial officers and staff, lawyers and staff from police and administration.
