Korba MP Mahant for increase in quota for admissions in KVs

Raipur, Dec 09: Lok Sabha member from Korba Jyotsana Mahant on Thursday raised demand to increase the quota of Member of Parliament (MPs) for admissions in Kendriya Vidyalaya from existing 10 students to 50 students. Participating in the discussion in Lok Sabha, the Korba Parliamentarian said that increase in quota for admissions is essential for better future of students through quality education. She said that increase in quota is essential as there are more than 8 Legislative Assembly constituencies in her Korba Lok Sabha segment and admissions proposal are high before the MPs. She added that previously, she used to get accommodated more students through Central Minister Quota which too was not possible last year. She requested that the Prime Minister should consider her proposal and increase the quota of MPs from 10 students to 50 students for admissions in Kendriya Vidyalaya or to reinstate the quota of Central Ministers.
Her proposal was welcomed by the MPs from all the parties in Lok Sabha.
