Flight Services from Bilaspur to Delhi to commence from March 1

Raipur, Feb 17: As a result of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s initiative to start Bilaspur airline service in Chhattisgarh under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, the airline said airline service from Bilaspur to New Delhi is commencing from March 1. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had met Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on February 4 during his stay in New Delhi. He requested Bilaspur to allow air connectivity to metros cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. On which Union Minister Puri had announced that Air India flight from Bilaspur to Delhi will be started immediately.
Two flights of ATR 72 aircraft will be operated from Bilaspur to Delhi on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The first flight will leave from Delhi to reach Bilaspur via Jabalpur at 3.20 am and return to Delhi from Bilaspur via Prayagraj at 3.45 pm. (Delhi-Jabalpur-Bilaspur (1520-1545) -Prayagraj-Delhi). The second flight will reach Bilaspur from Delhi via Prayagraj at 4 pm, and the flight will go to Delhi from Bilaspur via Jabalpur at 4.30 pm (Delhi-Prayagraj-Bilaspur (1600-1630) -Jabalpur-Delhi). Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, has given its consent for this. As per the instructions given by Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in this regard, Airport Authority of India will take action in the direction and give permission for the flights.
Chief Minister had also requested for a cargo hub facility in Raipur during his meeting with Puri, in response to which the Union Minister has instructed the Chairman of the Airport Authority of India to carry out the site inspection and take necessary action. Chief Minister had also requested to start air service from Ambikapur Airport and for air service from Jagdalpur Airport to metro cities, to which Union Minister assured of taking positive initiatives in the direction.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has thanked Union Minister Puri for approving the air service from Bilaspur to Delhi. He has said that the commencement of air services to Delhi will help in the economic progress and industrial development of Bilaspur and surrounding areas. Also, people will be able to avail low cost air travel facility.
It is noteworthy that state government has so far approved Rs 45 crore for development of Bilaspur Airport, of which Rs 21 crore has been spent.
