Finance company’s goons severely bash borrower

Raipur, Mar 07: In a blatant instance of rowdism and extortion attempt, two goons of a finance company first called the borrower for a meeting over delay in paying loan installments and then severely bashed the borrower and his brother and also damaged the glasses of their car. A complaint in this regard was lodged Telibandha police station on Saturday night.
According to police, complainant Vipul Singh Thakur of Sky Garden apartment in Avanti Vihar had borrowed a sum of money from a finance company after receiving repeated calls for providing loan at a minimal interest rate and very easy and flexible repayment installments. While the complainant initially made timely repayments, for last couple of months he was unable to clear the repayment installments worth Rs 3400.
After making repeated calls for clearing all the due repayments, person from the finance company on Saturday asked Vipul to come for a meeting under Telibandha overbridge to sort out the issue. Not suspecting the official from the finance company, Vipul reached the said spot with his elder brother Rahul Singh. Reaching the spot, Vipul and his brother met two goons of the Bajaj Finance Company named Shahid Ali and Danish Khan. After initially threatening both the brothers of dire consequences for not clearing the repayment installments, they went on to threaten them for making the payment right there. With Vipul expressing inability to make any payment at that time, both those goons smashed the glassed of their car and started bashing them before fleeing on spotting people coming to the spot.
Later Vipul lodged a complaint against Shahid Ali and Danish Khan in Telibandha police station following which police have registered an offence under Section 294, 506, 384, 34 IPC against both the absconding goons and is now investigating the matter further.
