Farmers of Chhattisgarh to recieve a gift of Rs 1500 crore on Rajyotsav

Raipur, Oct 31: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will transfer an amount of Rs 1500 crore in the bank accounts of farmers on the occasion of State Foundation Day on November 1. This amount will be provided as the third installment under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Nearly 21 lakh farmers of the state will receive the total amount of Rs 1500 crore right before Diwali.
All the preparations have been made to release the third installment to the farmers under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana on November 1.
It is noteworthy that under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, provision of input assistance to promote crop productivity and crop diversification in the state has been included from Kharif year 2019. In year 2019, an amount of Rs 5702 crore 13 lakh was released to 19 lakh farmer producers of paddy and sugarcane. In year 2020, input assistance is being provided to the paddy and sugarcane producing farmers in four installments under the scheme. The first installment of Rs 1525 crore 97 lakh was paid to the farmers on 21 May 2021 and the second installment of Rs 1522 crore 03 lakh was paid on 20 August 2021. And the third installment of Rs 1500 crore under the scheme will be paid to the paddy producing farmers on November 1, 2021.
Exchange grant under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana has really boosted the agriculture sector. The area under cultivation and the number of farmers has significantly increased in the state. More people have started taking interest in farming practices. Considering the positive outcome, State Government has expanded the scope of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana to include all Kharif crops as well as horticulture crops under the scheme. Now farmers will recieve the input aid for producing Kharif crops and horticulture crops as well. In lieu of paddy, a provision of input aid of Rs.10,000 per acre has been made for the farmers cultivating other crops and Rs.10,000 per acre for the farmers doing plantation.
