Budget session of State Assembly to comprise 24 sittings
Raipur, Feb 21:
The budget session of Chhattisgarh Assembly to be beginning on Monday, February 22 will comprise 24 sittings, Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant said while talking to the reporters at Legislative Assembly today.
As on February 20, a total of 2,350 questions were received from the legislators, which comprise 1,262 ‘’starred’’ questions and 1,088 ‘’unstarred’’ questions, as well as 24 notices of Adjournment Motion and 117 notices of Call Attention Motion, Mahant said. The session will start with the address of Governor Anusuiya Uikey followed by the tabling of motion of thanks on the governor’’s address, said the Speaker. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel who is also holding finance portfolio will present budget at 12:30 pm on March 1.
Dr Mahant said that tributes would be paid to departed leaders including former parliamentary secretary Om Prakash Rathia, Former Minister in Madhya Pradesh Government Dr Bhanu Pratap Gupta, former parliamentary secretary in undivided Madhya Pradesh Laxman Ram and former member of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Roshan Lal. The appropriation of third supplementary estimate would be held on February 23. Discussion on 3rd supplementary demands for grants would be held on February 24 and budget discussion would be held on March 2 and March 3.
Department-wise supplementary demands for grants would be discussed from March 4 to March 23.
