Uproar in RMC general body meeting

Raipur, Jul 23: Uproarious scene prevailed in general body meeting of Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Friday with two independent corporators making an issue out of allotment of seats and sitting on the floor in front of the Speaker to lodge their protest.
The general body meeting was convened to discuss issues of public interests. But soon after the start of the meeting two independent corporators lodged protest against allotment of seats in the last row. Seeing this attitude of corporators
Amar Bansal and Gopesh Sahu, other corporators engaged in argument. On this Speaker Pramod Dubey said that this conduct of the corporators was not acceptable. He told both the independent corporators to stop disrupting the house proceedings. Mayor Aijaz Dhebar too requested them to go back to their seats but in vain. According to BJP corporator Mrityunjay Dubey seats are allotted as per the rule. But corporator Amar Bansal remained adamant saying that he had no problem in sitting on the floor.
Total 21 agendas were specified for discussion in general body meeting which is likely to last for two days. These agendas pertain to giving ownership rights for shops in Gol Bazaar area, outsourcing sanitisation of main roads of city with machines for the period of four years, rehabilitation of people in Amapara sweeper colony, redevelopment of Dangania Khadan Basti and rehabilitation of those affected by widening of road between Kotwali and Gandhi Maidan.
