Education can take any society on path of progress: CM

Raipur, Mar 07: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghhel addressing at the introductory meet of marriageable youth of Mehar community on occasion of ‘Sant Shiromani Ravidas Jayanti’ said that education is must for progress of any society. Any society should first get its people educated and maintain safe distance from soical evils. CM said that at block-level, Swamy Atmanand English Medium Schools have been opened so that children from weaker section of the society can obtain English education. It is notable here that Chhattisgarh Hardiya Sahu Samaj organised introductory meet of marriageable youth and ideal marriage from Mehar Samaj was organised near Sant Shiromani Ravidas Mandir at Samaj’s building here on Sunday. CM extended greetings to all newly wedded couple and wished for good and prosperous future for all newly wedded couple. CM on this occasion also offered prayers at Sant Shiromani Ravidas temple and sought Sant’s blessings.
CM on this occasion said that in Nva Raipur, a 200 bedded residential coaching centre is being constructed for students from Scheduled Caste (SC) and added that in this national-level school to be opened in Nava Raipur, it is the state government who will be paying the fees for SC, ST students. CM said that to take any society forward, there is need to quit any type of intoxication and the people of Samaj should come forward to help such people quit such wrong habits andn create awareness among them. CM addressing the programme assured the members of Mehar Samaj to simplify the procedure in making of caste certificate of people from their samaj and made declaration of Rs 20 lakh for renovation of Samaj’s building.
CM Baghel said that ‘Chaarm Shilp Board’ (CSB) will be established in the state. Through this board people of Samaj will be imparted training on how to make shoes, slippers etc and work place will be established for ‘Chaarm Shilpkars’ at block level. He said that for selling of various products of different artists, Women Self-Help Groups (WSHGs) viz. ‘Kosa cloth’, ‘agriculture produce’ and others, ‘C-Mart’ will be opened at district headquarter’s level. This year C-Mart will be opened in Raipur, Bilaspur and Durg. CM Baghel said that Mahatma Gandhi used to say that soul of the country resides in rural India and therefore the state government too has taken initiatives to strengthen villages and empower them. CM informed that due to pro-farming and agriculture activities by the state government, many a persons who have left farming are now returning towards farming and agriculture. Under Rajiv Gandhi Kissan Yojana, grants in assistance of Rs 10000 per acre is being given to farmer. He said that the role of state government is to work for poor, farmers, labourers and it is working in this direction. State President Mehar Samaj Khilawan Baghel chairing the programme said that Mehar Samaj is on path of progress these days. Many people from Samaj are holding degrees of ‘D.Lit.’ and many others have become engineers, doctors, advocates and teachers as well. Parliamentary Secretary Vinod Sewan Lal Chandrakar said that the state government is working in the direction of welfare of all the Samaj. He said that education is the best means to take ahead any society and therefore every Society should pay special attention of education of their children. The office bearers of Mehar Samaj welcomed CM with shawl, srifal and memento.
