Union Home Minister Amit Shah to release first District Good Governance Index for 20 districts of J&K via video conferencing

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will release first District Good Governance Index for 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir through video conferencing today at 1 PM. Jammu and Kashmir will become the first Union Territory in the country to have Good Governance Index.

This is a major step towards administrative reform in benchmarking good governance at district level.  Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will also address the event.

The District Good Governance Index of Jammu and Kashmir was prepared by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir government. The District Good Governance Index is a milestone and it is expected that it will provide a robust framework for evidence-based assessment of the performance of all the districts in Jammu and Kashmir.
