Two notorious bike lifters arrested; 3 vehicles recovered

Nawapara police on Saturday arrested two notorious bike lifters and recovered from them three bikes which they had lifted from various police station areas in capital Raipur and had been hiding them in Nawapara.
According to police, Nawapara police station on Saturday received information about two youths who had lately been seeing riding separate bikes which were almost new. Following the information, police laid a trap and rounded up one Khilesh Dewangan of Paragaon which a TVS Jupiter bike. With Khilesh failing to produce any relevant documents pertaining to the particular bike, he was brought to police station for further interrogation.
Once inside the police station, Khilesh took no time in confessing about lifting three bikes along with Raipur’s notorious bike lifter Ankush Gupta and hiding them in Nawapara. Following his confession, a police team arrived at the capital and arrested Ankush from his house in Kukurbeda locality under jurisdiction of Saraswati Nagar police station. It was soon revealed that Ankush had been lifting bikes even while he was juvenile and police had once recovered from him a total of ten lifted bikes.
Meanwhile, police have registered an offence under Section 41(1)4 CrPC/379 IPC against both the arrested lifters and is now in contact with Tikrapara, Kotwali and Rajendra Nagar police stations of capital Raipur from where these bikes were lifted.

One arrested under Arms Act
Raipur: Kotwali police on Friday night arrested a youth under Arms Act from near Shiv Temple in Nehru Nagar after he was nabbed possessing a knife. Identified as Rohit Tandi, the accused was immediately taken to the police station where he was later booked under Section 25 of Arms Act.

One arrested under Excise Act
Raipur: Kharora police on Friday night arrested a man under Excise Act from village Bhiwra after he was nabbed possessing 20 bottles of country liquor. Identified as Manoj Sahu, the accused was immediately taken to the police station where he was later booked under Section 34-1 of Excise Act.

Two bikes lifted
Raipur: Unidentified lifters escaped with two bikes from separate police station areas during last 24-hours. The first one, a Bajaj Discover CG07-BU-5186 from near Mahtari Chowk at Gondwara Road while its owner Ashish Kumar Singh of Khursipar in Bhilai was having a cup of tea at the roadside stall. The lifting was later complained in Gudhiyari police station. The next one, a Hero Splendor CG04-LP-5383, was lifted from outside Gokul Nagar liquor shop while its owner Hemshankar Bagh was buying liquor. The lifting was later complained in Tikrapara police station. Respective police stations have since registered offence under Section 379 IPC against unidentified lifters and further investigations are now underway.
