Three of Nepali origin nabbed in Rs 28 lakh online fraud

Jagdalpur, Feb 02: Three persons from Nepal origin fooling a person of Jagdalpur in the name of Facebook friendship cheated them of cash worth Rs 28 lakhs and it is their costly style of living and habits that has put them behind bar.
SP Deepak Jha and City SP Hemsagar Sidar are the two who managed to break this mystery of online fraud. It was after 2-3 hours of thorough interrogation that the two accepted their crime and were put behind bars. These three accused in the year 2020 cheated one Sardar Darbara Singh (70) of Jagalpur for sending him gift worth Rs 28 lakh after making him friend through facebook. This amount was deposited in many installments from Singh. It was when Singh came to know that he has been cheated, he went to Bodhghat Thana and filed a complaint The police came into action and one team was sent to Delhi and to inquire about the online fraud. It was after inquiry, the accused Shobhraj Thapa, Renuka Gosai and Raju Hitang were arrested from Delhi along with cash of Rs 1.50 lakh, one passport of Nepal, 5 no’s mobile phones, two passbooks, 10 ATM cards, driving licence, Aadhar Card, PAN card and other documents from their possession. In this fraud, a case under section 420 of IPC and 66 D of IT Act was filed against the three and they were sent to jail. All three are of Nepal origin and were nabbed by the team of police from Jagdalpur in this Rs 28 lakh fraud.
