Brainstorming session for better education system in Ch’garh

Raipur, Nov 14: Welcoming the educationists, scholars, teachers and experts, who are participating in the National Education Conclave, which started from today in the capital Raipur, the Chief Minister said that during this two-day education conference, discussions will be held on what work has been done in the field of children’s education in the last 75 years and what has been missing, what can be done better for the education of children and in which direction we can move forward. Chhattisgarh will also get an opportunity to learn a lot from the representatives from 27 states in this Samagam.
Chief Minister said that the whole world was affected during the Corona period. During this period, digital education was started in Chhattisgarh. Despite many challenges during the Corona pandemic, the teachers discharged their academic responsibilities very well. In Chhattisgarh, stories of Guruji with umbrella, Guruji with bell and Guruji with motor cycle were seen. During the Corona period, teachers did not allow the education of children to be stopped. In the state, more than 75 thousand teachers made recordings on various subjects and provided study material to the children, the benefit of which was taken by the children of Chhattisgarh as well as other states. Where there was network problem, Bluetooth (Bultu Ke Bol) was used for offline education. In the lockdown, when the children were at home, innovation was started to educate them in sports, in which the parents of the children were also involved.
Presiding over the program, School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam said that for the first time after the formation of Chhattisgarh, Shiksha Samagam is being organized to improve the education of children in Chhattisgarh. It is the effort of the state government to provide skillful education to the children in Chhattisgarh. He mentioned the innovations ‘Padhai Tuhar Duar and Padhai Tuhar Para’ started for online education during the Corona period. In Chhattisgarh, under the Right to Education, the scope of education up to class 8th has been increased to class 12th. Mahtari Dular Yojna has been started for the education of the children who lost their families during the Corona period.
Education scholars from various states delivered lectures on education reform, new academic activity, vision of future school, innovation and other technical subjects at Jawaharlal Nehru National Education Conference organised at DDU Auditorium in Science College campus here on the occasion of Children’s Day today. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s advisor Vinod Verma in his remarks said that the creation of India was an idea of Pt Nehru. Apart from making children literate, it is necessary to educate them, he said. Scientific thinking has to be brought in the children so that they are able to take decisions of their life, he said adding that it is necessary to empower the children to make their own decisions. Apart from inculcating scientific and technical education in children, it is also necessary to educate them about their own heritage.
KS Upadhyay from Delhi told about the education system of the Delhi government. He told about the imagination of a parent-friend for every 50 children. He also gave a presentation on how the school will be after 15 to 20 years. Mota Ram Bhadu, an educationist from Rajasthan, told about the Mahatma Gandhi Government English School, Government of Rajasthan. On this occasion, he spoke about the need for training and leadership program of teachers.
Similarly, NCERT New Delhi official Anita Luna said that efforts are being made by NCERT for how the education system of the 21st century will be, so that everyone can get quality education. Presently NCERT is working for National Education Policy. She also stressed upon the inclusion of social and moral awareness along with diversity, creativity in education.
Officer in Chhattisgarh State Council of Educational Research Training, Raipur, Lalit Sahu told about the ambitious scheme of the state government, Swami Atmanand English Medium School. As many as 171 Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools are currently being run in different districts of Chhattisgarh where children of poor and weaker sections are also getting English medium education, he said.
He expressed views on value based education and skill based learning. Similarly, Karnataka educationist Shanti Nair expressed views on how to envision the school of the future and the remarkable efforts made by the School Education Department, Government of Karnataka for the education of children by the Department of School Education in covid pandemic. On this occasion, Gaurav Vallabh, in his remarks, recalled the contribution of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the field of education and said that in the first two five year plans of the country, he made arrangements for compulsory free primary education for the whole country. His effort was to develop a scientific temper in the country. He said that during the Corona period, when school education across the country suffered due to digital divide. New innovations of quality education were implemented with success in Chhattisgarh. Referring to the popularity of Swami Atmanand English Medium School, he said that this school has become ‘Sages for Ages’. He also gave many important suggestions regarding school education. Before the program, the guests also visited the exhibition on the innovations made in the field of school education in the auditorium premises. Former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor and former Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University Dinesh Singh extended best wishes for the success of this program through video message. On this occasion, Chief Minister launched booklet ‘Vision 2030’, ‘Vibhutis of Chhattisgarh’, ‘Calendar of Chhattisgarh Raj Geet’, ‘Coffee Table Book of Swami Atmanand English Medium School and Padhai Tuhar Duar Yojna’, ‘Schooling for Excellence’, published by the School Education Department.
