Students create awareness during NSS camp

National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of NH Goel World School organised a seven-day camp at village -Ameri, which is 35 kms from Raipur city recently. 45 students of Grade-11 attended the camp, which was organized and guided by NSS Program Officer Ms. Sakshi Kahar, and was supported by School staff Saket Dubey, Derha Ram, Meera and Basanti.

NSS volunteers took survey of village- Ameri and Sakri, in which total 800 responses were taken from rural households, during which volunteers communicated with villagers and understood and recorded their basic information and areas where development is required. Major projects taken were – Free Dental check-up camp in collaboration with Namman Hospital, Raipur – in which total 350 patients were given check-up and necessary medicines were given.

Volunteers camp day schedule included- morning Prabhat Pheri, Cleanliness Drive, cooking daily for 50 camp participants, living with minimum resources, spreading awareness about basic rights and rural government policies. A gala cultural evening was the major attraction on the last evening of the camp where volunteers along with children of the village gave many performances – Chhattisgarh state song, NSS Lakshya Geet, Spiritual and patriotic songs, Dance performances of Chhattisgarh and some other states, Nukkadnatak and skit on – ‘BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO’ theme. Volunteers also learned Chhattisgarhi language and culture.
