Raipur, Sep 09: Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey attended the state investiture ceremony of Bharat Scouts and Guides Chhattisgarh in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan and felicitated excellent Scouts, Guides, Rover, Ranger, Scouters and Guiders.
On this occasion, President of Bharat Scouts and Guides Chhattisgarh and School Education Minister Mr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Vice President and MLA Mrs. Shakuntala Sahu, Commissioner and MLA Mr. Vinod Chandrakar, Working President Mr. Rajesh Agrawal were also present. In the program, the School Education Minister announced to give uniforms every year to the students of Scouts and Guides studying in the school.
The Governor said that the Bharat Scouts and Guides organisation inculcates the spirit of discipline and nationalism in the children. The spirit of human service is also generated in the students associated with the institution, which is useful to them throughout their life. Scouts and guides are taught that no work is small or big.
The Governor said that this organization has played an important role in promoting the spirit of ‘Unity in Diversity’ and ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. Bharat Scouts and Guides is an organization that works to educate the students. Scouts and guides are taught the art of living life by adapting themselves in less facilities and in difficult situations. It is said that “Once a Scout, Always Scout”. Once the seed of scouting is planted in a child, he remains a scout for the rest of his life. Scouting teaches to have reverence for all religions.
This organisation also does the work of developing the quality of leadership ability in the youth. Here I am reminded of Swami Vivekananda’s statement that “If I can find some youth who are bright, revered and determined and do selfless service, I can change the whole world.”
The Governor said that the scouting of Chhattisgarh state has an important contribution in our country. Even during the Corona period, our Rovers-Rangers, Scouters and Guiders did many service work like distribution of food, dry ration distribution, door-to-door medicine delivery and spreading public awareness among the common people selflessly, as a result of which service in the entire India during the Corona period. India has received the third prize for the work. All of you are to be congratulated for this, she added.
The trainers here are invited many times to the National Training Institute Pachmarhi for imparting training at the national level. Various programs are organized every year in the state, our state participates in all the programs at the national level also. Every year 1000 children from the Education Department and Tribal Welfare Department from the state are going to Pachmarhi and doing free disaster management and adventure courses. In the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections of the country, our Scouts-Guides have set an example by helping the differently-abled people. I not only hope but have full faith that the Scouts and Guides of our state will continue to do the work of service in this way and will highlight the name of our state and country.
School Education Minister Premsai Singh Tekam said that the Scouts and Guides did remarkable work in bringing awareness during Corona infection, distributing masks, providing medicines and food during the Corona period.
