School, Colleges to re-open from August 2

Raipur, Jul 20: Chhattisgarh Government on Tuesday decided to start the academic session 2021-22 in Schools, Colleges and Universities from August 2 with 50% attendance of the students i.e. students would join physical classes on alternate days.
Above decision was taken at the meeting of State Cabinet held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel here on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the information received, the students of Classes 10th and 12th would be able to attend Schools from August 2 with 50% attendance. However, the consent of the Parents is essential. Decision on functioning of Schools could be taken by the Village Panchayat after consulting the Parents if no case of Covid 19 is reported in rural areas whereas the local Corporators and Parents would jointly take decision on functioning of Schools in City areas.
Regarding the opening of Colleges and Universities, the physical classes can be conducted with 50% attendance on alternate days. However, the current system of online classes too would remain continue.
At the same time, all the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), Medical Colleges, Engineering Colleges and Polytechnic Colleges would also reopen in phased manner. However, the attendance of students in Colleges would not be compulsory.
In a separate decision, the state government has also given approval to the proposal seeking functioning of Aanganbadi Centres in two phases from July 26 onwards.
Cabinet also gave approval to the proposal to provide financial assistance of Rs 50 crore for the establishment of Global Educational Institute in Nawa Raipur.
While the Department of School Eduction would be provided 20 Acres of land free of cost, the Board of Secondary Education would be providing financial assistance of Rs 15 crore for the said purpose whereas Chhattisgarh Open School and Board of Professional Examination would provide financial assistance of Rs 10 crore and Rs 25 crore respectively for the proposed Global School.
