Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs to be formed in panchayats, urban wards

Raipur, Sept 18: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club today, an ambitious scheme to connect the youth of the state with creative works and to ensure their participation in the development works. Under this scheme, 13269 Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs will be constituted in each of the gram panchayats and urban bodies of the state in a phased manner. Chief Minister congratulated the youth of the state on the launch of this scheme, and said that through Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club, youngsters would get the opportunity to establish their identity and develop their leadership skills. Through this schemes, youth of the state are being encouraged to actively participate in the progress of the State.
In this program organized at CM House today, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel released an amount of Rs 19.43 crore to the districts for the formation and operation of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club. Chhattisgarh Government has made provisioned Rs 50 crore in the budget for Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club. Each club will be sanctioned Rs one lakh per year for conducting various creative activities. This fund would be release in four installments of Rs 25 thousand each every three months. A grant amounting to Rs 132.69 crore will be provided to 13269 clubs in the state during this year.
In his address to the program, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club scheme has been launched in the state to realize the vision of former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi. Commencement of this scheme would be an important step in the direction of creating ‘Yuva Chhattisgarh’. Mr. Baghel said that inauguration of this scheme is the fulfillment of another promise made in the manifesto. Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club would help in uniting the youngsters, polishing their talents and provide them a platform to voice their concerns. He further said that ‘Yuva Shakti’ i.e. the youth power is an important resource for development of the state. He expressed hope that Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club will provide a positive direction to the youngsters and benefit the entire state.
Health Minister Mr. T.S. Singhdeo, Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mr. Umesh Patel addressed the programme virtually.
At the beginning of the program, Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Mr. NN. Ekka gave detailed information about the provisions made for Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club. He said that in compliance to the announcement made by Chief Minister on the occasion of State Youth Festival 2020, Sports and Youth Welfare Department would ensure formation of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club in every Gram Panchayat and urban body of the state.
The club will be registered under the Firms and Societies Act. Each club will have 20 to 40 youths of age between 15 to 40 years. A ministerial level committee will be formed under the chairmanship of Chief Minister for the implementation, monitoring and review of the scheme. State Level Executive Committee will be headed by Chief Secretary. Committees will also be constituted at the district and sub-division level.
The ministers in-charge of the districts will be the patrons of the district level committees. At the end of the program, Director Sports and Youth Welfare Mrs. Shweta Srivastava Sinha proposed vote of thanks.
