Expansion of drinking water related works in rural areas: Rudrakumar

Raipur, Jun 03: Under the guidance of Public Health Engineering and Village Industries Minister Guru Rudra Kumar and under Jal Jeevan Mission in Chhattisgarh, the works related to drinking water are being expanded in rural areas. Minister Guru Rudrakumar said that the work of Jal Jeevan Mission is intensifying even in this difficult situation of Corona transition period. For this, the departmental officers and field staff have been appreciated. As per the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, it is our topmost priority to provide pure drinking water to the people in the state, for which every effort is being made. He has directed the officers to complete the works of Jal Jeevan Mission within the time-limit. In this episode, the Director of Water Life Mission, S. Prakash informed that the work of Jal Jeevan Mission is going on at a fast pace in Chhattisgarh. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, a total of 2553 online tenders have been invited by the District Water and Sanitation Mission of various districts till May 28. Action is being taken to issue work orders by opening the tenders as per rules.
Similarly 509 work orders have been issued, under which 48 in district Bemetara, 25 in Durg, 19 in Kabirdham, 15 in Kanker, 47 in Raigarh, 41 in Rajnandgaon, 44 in Ambikapur, 33 in Raipur, 33 in Mahasamund, Bilaspur 10 in Bijapur, 14 in Balrampur, 9 in Gariaband, 19 in Balod, 28 in Dhamtari, 40 in Janjgir-Champa, 10 in Kondagaon, 21 in Korea, 31 in Surajpur, 15 in Balodabazar-Bhatapara and Mungeli, Korba and one work order each has been issued in Jashpur district. The process of issuing work orders on the remaining tenders as per rules is being done by the District Water and Sanitation Mission of all the districts.
