‘Prayas’ students perform outstandingly in JEE

Raipur, Sept 16: The students of Prayas Residential School, run by the Department of Tribal Castes, performed brilliantly in the results of the prestigious JEE exam for admission to IITs, NITs and central government-funded engineering institutions. The results were declared on Wednesday.
This year, 395 students from Prayas residential schools appeared for JEE Mains and 178 of them achieved success. Maximum 73 students have passed from Prayas Boys Residential School, Saddu Raipur. Apart from this, 23 students of Prayas Girls Residential School, Raipur, 21 students of Prayas Residential School Durg, 18 students of Prayas Ambikapur, 16 students of Prayas Bilaspur, 15 students of Prayas Jagdalpur and 12 students of Prayas Kanker have achieved success.
Expressing delight on outstanding performance of students of Prayas Residential School Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Tribal and Scheduled Tribe Development Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam said that the State Government was continuously working to provide better education in Prayas schools. He said that more meaningful results will be seen in the near future. Department Secretary DD Singh and Commissioner Shammi Abidi have wished the students for bright future and congratulated them on their success. All the students who have qualified JEE Mains will now be able to appear in JEE-Advanced exam to be held on October 3. The students who qualify this examination will get admission in IITs.
