Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stressed that Indian music should make its global identity. He was speaking at the launch of Pandit Jasraj Cultural Foundation through video conferencing on Friday. He paid tribute to Pandit Jasraj on the occasion of birth anniversary of the doyen of Indian Classical Music. The Prime Minister talked of the personification of immortal energy of music by Pandit Jasraj and lauded Durga Jasraj and Pandit Shaarang Dev for keeping alive the glorious legacy of the maestro. He praised Pandit Jasraj Cultural Foundation for their goal of preserving India’s rich heritage of art and culture.
Mr. Modi said, Music is a very mysterious subject and comprehensive knowledge given by our sages about sound is amazing. He said, the strength to feel the cosmic energy and ability to see music in the flow of universe is what makes Indian Classical music tradition so exceptional. He added, Music is a medium that makes us aware of our worldly duties and it also helps us transcend worldly attachments. He said, the experience of Yoga Day has indicated that the world has benefited from Indian heritage and Indian music also has the capacity to stir the depth of the human mind.
Stressing on the revolution of technology and information technology in the field of music, the Prime Minister said, there is a need to create such start-ups in the country which are completely dedicated to music and based on Indian musical instruments and tradition.
Giving the mantra of heritage with development, Mr. Modi said, ‘Sabka Prayas’ should be included in this journey. He also talked about the recent efforts to regenerate the centres of culture and art like Kashi.
The Prime Minister said, India has shown the way to a secured future to the world through its faith in environment preservation and love for nature.
