Teachers guide us to path of success: Guv

Raipur, Sept 05: Chhattisgarh Governor Anusiya Uike on Sunday showered high accolades on the teachers on the occasion of Teachers Day which is celebrated every year on September 5 to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India, Dr S Radhakrishnan.
In her speech, the Governor said that teachers are like bright candles who provide light into darkness of ignorance among the children who are future of our nation. Speaking further, she said that teachers play a major role into shaping the future of our country and state by guiding the students into choosing the correct path of achievement in their respective future. She further said that it is the teachers who have shaped all of us including me, the Chief Minister and all other politicians and helping them achieve wheat ever they have obtained in life. On the occasion, she also lauded Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for taking initiatives in upgrading the standard of education by upgrading block level schools into English medium schools.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that no words are sufficient enough to praise the sincere and tireless efforts of our teachers into shaping our children, the future generation of our nation, and pillars of greatness for our country. It is really a great achievement of our teachers that an ideal of every child in the country is a teacher, he added.
School education minister Dr Prem Sai Singh Tekam in his address highly lauded the teachers. He said that teachers in our country and state have never tried to avoid whatever responsibility has been handed to them be the teaching profession or other social cause. The minister highly praised the teachers even in this precarious health conditions due to COVID-19 pandemic and termed them as the foremost frontline worker in this hour of great adversity.
In this programme, 58 teachers selected in 2020 were felicitated and out of which 54 were presented with ‘state teacher’s award’ and 4 were felicitated in the memory of well-known litterateurs of the state. On this occsion the names of teachers for the state-level award for 2021 were also announced.
The Principal Secretary School Education Department Dr Alok Shukla gave the welcome speech. In this programme Secretary to the Governor Amrut K Khalko, Legal Advisor to Guv- RK Agrawal, Secretary School Education Department Dr Kamalpreet Singh were also present. In this programme girl students of JR Dani Girl’s School presented ‘Saraswati Vandana’ and state song.
