National players of Mahasamund got felicitated

Raipur, Aug 31: On the occasion of Major Dhyan Chand’s birthday, August 29 and National Sports Day, one day Major Dhyan Chand Trophy Hockey Sports Competition was organized under the joint aegis of Khel and Youth Welfare Mahasamund and District Hockey Association. In the mini category of Dhyanchand Trophy, teams from Government Pre Secondary School Pitiyajhar, Government Pre Secondary School Kumharpara, Shishu Sanskar Kendra and Government Adarsh Pre Secondary School, Mahasamund participated in which the winner was Kumharpara School and the runner-up was Government East Secondary School Pitiyajhar. The score of the match was 3-1. The outstanding player of this match, Bhupendra Sahu and man of the match Manoj were selected. In the girls’ category, the team of Government Ashi Left Golchha Higher Secondary School, Dev Sanskriti Vidyalaya and District Hockey Association participated, in which the winner was the team of District Hockey Association and the runner-up was Ashi Left Golchha Higher Secondary School. The score of the match was 2-1. Outstanding player in the match was Tarannum Bano and man of the match were given to Harshita Kannauje. Similarly, the teams of Government Higher Secondary School, Bemcha, Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Government Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya Post Graduate College and District Hockey Association participated in the boys senior category, in which the winner was the team of Mahasamund District Hockey Association and the runner-up was Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School. The score of this match was 3-1, in this match, excellent player was Chandrashekhar Yadav and man of the match was Rahul.
Chief Guest Adalat Dubey inaugurated the sports competition by garlanding the photograph of Major Dhyanchand and lighting the lamp. On this occasion Kamlesh Chandrakar, Tehsildar, Mahasamund, Premu Lal Sahu, District Registrar, Deepak Mandavi, Sports Officer, Manoj Dhritalhare, Rajesh Sharma, Imran Ali, Rajesh Dewan, Secretary, District Hockey Association, Arun Tiwari and Dulamani were present. Sports material like hockey net, ball, scene pad were distributed by the Sports Department to the Hockey Sports Federation. The closing ceremony was done in the presence of Chief Guest, President Municipal Council, Prakash Chandrakar, Special Guest Khilwan Baghel, Yogeshwar Raju Singh, Laxman Patel, Dr. Yugal Kumar Chandrakar, Lalit Kaushik Sports Officer Manoj Dhritalhare. While felicitating the players, medals and trophy awards were given to all the players. The guests were honored by presenting the shreefal and momento. The District Hockey Association expressed its gratitude to all the honorable guests and teachers for the successful organization of the competition.
