More than 500 questions submitted by MLAs for Question Hour sessions

Raipur, Jan 30: Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) have so far submitted more than 500 questions within a week for the Question Hour sessions in the upcoming Budget session of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly scheduled to begin from February 22 onwards.
According to the information received, the Assembly Secretariat started receiving questions from January 23 and till January 30, the MLAs have submitted 546 questions so far to grill the Treasury bench with their volley of questions. Officials informed that nearly 300 questions submitted by MLAs are starred questions whereas 248 questions are unstarred which would be taken up for discussion during the Budget session of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly.
With the upcoming session to be held for more than a month, the number of questions for the Question Hour sessions would further gain momentum in next few days. Apart from the Question Hours, the MLAs have also started submitting notice related to call attention motion which provides them nearly half an hour for discussion during the proceedings. Main issues on which the MLAs have submitted questions include paddy procurement, law & order situation as well as education.
Apart from the questions, the MLAs would further move adjournment motion on key issues during the upcoming Budget session of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly to gherao the ruling Congress government on key issues.
