Lockdown extended till May 15 with major relaxations
Raipur, May 04: Chhattisgarh Government on Tuesday decided for extension of lockdown for 10 days till May 15 as most Districts have are not showing sustained decreasing positivity rates. However several relaxations would be provided to the public to get their essential needs for next ten days but all these relaxations like grocery shops would be allowed to open only till 5 pm.
Issuing the directives to the District Collectors, the senior officials from Mantralaya said that should extend lockdown period – so as to attempt to break the virus chain.
Regarding the further extension of lockdown, the state government also stated that Bastar Division districts – a new variant/strain has been detected in Andhra, which has been reported to be very dangerous, and which may spread to your areas, so these districts need to strictly implement border controls, improve border checking/testing, and extend lockdown.
Officials informed that all extensions of lockdown would be in 2 categories should be uniform, till May 15th, i.e., 10 days – but with some further relaxations. It was felt that only 2 districts, Raipur & Durg, where rates are tapering off, also can extend till 15th May, but with more/further relaxations.
