Knife-point robbery at Fundahar solved, all three accused arrested
Raipur, Jun 05: Telibandha police on Friday night arrested all three accused of knife-point robbery at Fundahar on Thursday night. Police have also recovered the robbed bike along with several cell phones, another lifted bike and several electrical gadgets and a bike which they had stolen a house in Temri. Police have also recovered the button-knife used in Thursday’s crime.
It should be recalled that accused Riyazuddin Khan Sheikh Farooq on Thursday night had stolen two LPG cylinders from a farmhouse behind Urja. The farmhouse’s caretaker immediately informed the stealing to complainant Nohar Singh Sahu after which he rushed towards the farmhouse.
Around Fundher, Sahu confronted both the robbers and soon a scuffle broke between them. Suddenly, both the accused tried to escape from the spot but their bike failed to start. Hereafter, they asked Nohar to hand over the keys of his bike and on refusing Farooq Sheikh attacked him with the knife and snatched the bike’s keys after which they both fled from the spot leaving behind their bike and the stolen LPG cylinders.
Following Sahu’s complaint in Telibandha police station, an offence was registered under Section 394 IPC after which a massive hunt was launched to nab both the robbers.
By early night on Friday, both the robbers were arrested and the robbed bike was recovered from them. Further interrogation of the arrested duo revealed that they along with another accomplice Tushar Chouhan had committed five more crimes.
These were lifting of two more bikes from outside separate houses in MLA Colony, a burglary at a house in village Temri from where they stolen another bike along with couple of electrical gadgets and a cell phone, the fourth crime was lifting a cell phone from an unlocked house in MLA Colony and the final offence was stabbing an old man named Sheikh Faisal after he refused to give them money for buying liquor.
