HC grants anticipatory bail to YC National Secretary Md Shahid

Bhilai, Sep 04: Chhattisgarh High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Youth Congress National Secretary Mohammad Shahid in connection with an FIR lodged against him under section 420 of IPC. Justice Parth Prateem Sahu conducted the hearing through video conferencing on the application filed by Mohammad Shahid. The case diary of the Police Department was also examined. Considering the arguments made by Senior Advocate Fouzia Miraz in favour of Mohammad Shahid, the court observed that there is no prima facie material available to show that Mohammad Shahid had accepted money from the complainants for providing them government jobs. Without commenting anything on the merits, the court granted the benefit of anticipatory bail to Shahid.
In his statement to media persons, Mohammad Shahid said that it was a political conspiracy against him and he has complete faith in the judiciary. He added that the FIR lodged against him was an attempt to murder his political career. “I am serving the people by working in the Congress party and will continue to do the same”, he said.
