Raipur, Nov 24: Food Corporation of India (FCI), Regional Office, Raipur under the Amrit Mahotsav program of Independence organised under “Iconic Week” on November 24. In this program, Chief Guest of the function was Mr Sunil Soni, MP, Raipur Loksabha Constituency. At the outset of the function Mr Anupam Dubey, General Manager, Food Corporation of India, Regional Office, Raipur welcomed MP Sunil Soni. Addressing the welcome speech, General Manager of Food Corporation of India, Raipur Regional Office, Mr. Anupam Dubey, informed about the achievements made by the Food Corporation of India during the lock down period.
He said that in view of the corona infection in the country, the Government of India had made an additional allocation of 15 lakh metric tons of rice to the state of Chhattisgarh under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. Lifiting of 100 percent rice has been done, due to which about 2 crore beneficiaries of the state of Chhattisgarh have benefited. Food Corporation of India Chhattisgarh region has continued the work of procurement of rice uninterruptedly even during the Covid epidemic. From April 2020 to November 2021, Food Corporation of India Regional Office has sent 39.46 lakh metric tonnes of rice to the states of Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra through 1489 rakes, so that the Public Distribution System continued smoothly even in the terrible phase of Corona. has been continued. During this, 2.65 lakh metric tonnes of rice has also been supplied to various states through road transport.
Sunil Kumar Soni, MP, praised the work being done by the Food Corporation of India and said that the Food Corporation of India is fulfilling the weaker section welfare scheme as per the divine thinking of the Prime Minister, which is not only work but also the service. Large number of poor have benefited from this work during the Covid period.
