Encounter between security forces and naxals

Bhanupratappur, Mar 23: Under joint operation, a joint team of BSF and district force led by Assistant Commandant R S Shekhawat from 17 BN BSF COB Sureli, Sirsangimeta Malapara of Tadoki Amabeda PS area, went on a search towards Kamta an during the patrolling at around 1:00 pm on 22 March, encounter took place between forces and naxals in the village of Malapara in Amabeda PS area, the Naxalites ran away taking advantage of the mountains and forest. During the search, a pressure cooker IED 5 kg  solar plates, electric wire utensils and large quantities of daily useful materials were seized.

SDOP Antagarh Kaushalendra Patel told that investigation of the scene revealed that the Naxalites were preparing to take food, some utensils were mounted on the stove, there was also some cooked food which the Naxalites ran down and estimated the food that had been prepared.  That 12 to 15 Naxalites were present in the camp, he added.
